Erin Calamari-Kirwan is a Boston-area artist, photographer, and educator. She finds beauty in the world around her and uses art as a form of expression, communication, mindfulness, and play. Erin considers herself a versatile, multidisciplinary artist. Her artwork can most readily be characterized by thoughtful use of color, careful observation, and energetic brush strokes. Erin works primarily with acrylics and watercolors, and often enjoys working with limitations - whether it be a limited palette, scene, or scale - as an entry point to the canvas and a welcome creative challenge.

Erin holds a BFA from Boston University's College of Fine Arts and taught visual arts at the secondary school level for over a decade. Throughout her teaching career, she enjoyed mentoring students and sharing her passion for art with others. Her artwork has been featured in several galleries and exhibits throughout New England, and many of her pieces currently live in private collections throughout the United States. In 2023, her photograph, "The Old Kitchen Pantry," was added to the Permanent Collection of Chateau d'Orquevaux International Artists & Writers Collection and was exhibited in Galerie Diderot Chateau in Orquevaux, France. 

Erin was born and raised in Chester, CT, and calls New England her home. She currently lives in Wakefield, MA, with her wife and two dogs. When she is not making art, she enjoys tending to her gardens, hiking, reading, and a strong cup of coffee.
